Manali : - Perfect combination of scenic hills and adventure activities rafting, camping, trekking, camping, paragliding etc , so if you are nature especially snow in winter lover and like to try out new adventure activities manali is the place. Dalhousie : - If you like to see distant mountain views from your hotel window or like to camp in pine-clad valleys away from all the hustle and bustle dalhousie is the place.
Dharamshala : - Picturesque surroundings , tranquility , buddhism and lots of good cafe if any of these interests you then you should go to dharamshala do not miss out mcleodganj.

I didn't have the idea that both Dalhousie and Dharamshala can be covered in a single trip. That's a great suggestion and I think I will take that. There are plenty of cool little restaurants that often have movie nights going, on or jam sessions on the roofs in the evenings. There are endless treks to do in Manali, or if you fancy a leisurely walk, you can stroll through the forest from Old Manali to New Manali and check out more local shops there.
Overall, we preferred Old Manali because of the extra cafes and shops compared to Dharamshala. Dharamshala was a little more spread out whereas in Old Manali, you have everything all in one street.
